In 2022 I participated in the FPV Contest hosted by Hackaday. I wanted to build a live streaming wagon from years and took this as an opportunity.
The build log and instructions is available on the project page, as well as the materials and equipment needed. Everything is powered by a 18650 battery, but I am planning to build a rail-powered version.
I did not win the contest, but instead learned many thing regarding video streaming, heat dissipation, and battery management. One thing I discovered in the months following the build, is that WiFi is an absolute nightmare in the FPV frequency range.
A test video is available below. I plan to upload a better video in the future, showcasing the version without battery.
The project was later described in a post by Robin Kearey on the main Hackaday blog.
